How to take Fireworks Photos

Last month Nikki Burke gave an excellent presentation on how to take Fireworks photos.

I have had a lot of request for a copy of Nikki's Presentation, so here is a link to her presentation in her Blog.

An easy Photoshop tip

For getting more realistic drop shadows in print: Add some noise.

When you choose Drop Shadow from the Add a Layer Style menu in the Layers palette, there’s a slider for adding noise to your shadows in the Layer Style dialog.

When you add just a small percentage, it makes your shadows appear more realistic when they show up in print

Moonrise Photo Shoot

On Sunday, July 25th we had a nice turnout for our combination surfer and moonrise photo shoot. A full report on the outing will be available soon in the Reports section of the member website. The photo below was provided by Mike Kovach, who seems to have captured colors that none of the rest of us saw.   Some additional photos taken by members during the outing can be seen by clicking here.

Equestrian Center  Photo Shoot

On August 7th, we had an impromptu "Photo Rendezvous" at the Jacksonville Equestrian Center at Cecil Field. In spite of the short notice, we had about 8-10 Club members in attendance. Most of the photography was outdoors for the jumping competition because the light was good. The competition indoors was also interesting, but taking photos was a challenge because of the dim light.  The photo below was taken by Jim Brady. Additional photos taken by members can be seen by clicking here.
